God's Simple Plan of Salvation
There are many man made ideas as to how a person may obtain salvation. Some have tried working it out, some have tried buying it, some have tried baptism, some have tried membership and some have tried their own. None of these work. Some have tried just believing in "a higher power" and some may go as far as believing in God. Just believing in the existence of God is not enough.
James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
There simply is no Salvation outside of Jesus Christ.
John 14:1 ¶Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 ¶And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
When God developed the plan of Salvation, he made it a simple one that even a child could understand. There have been many people today who have complicated it and tried to change it to suit their needs, but the plan still is just as simple as it always was.
To be born again and receive Salvation, all a person has to do is:
1) Recognize that they are lost.
(Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;)
2) Sincerely ask God to forgive their sins.
1 John 1:8 ¶If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
3) From the heart believe in the only begotten Son of God (Jesus) and confess Him with their mouth.
(Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.)
It really is that simple. Believing in God alone will not suffice, but it takes from the heart belief in Gods Son and the work He did when He died on Calvarys cross for the sins of the whole world. The best thing about Salvation is that it is free to all who believe.
(John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.)
If you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior, it is our prayer at Roadside Baptist Mission Church for you to pray the "from the heart" prayer for forgiveness and that you will place your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ.
